WATER
METER REPLACEMENT PROGRAM |
The
Village began a community-wide water meter replacement program in October 2007.
The purpose of this program is to improve the efficiency of meter reading and
water billing. The
Village has contracted with Rudder Limited as the authorized meter installer.
You will receive a "Notice" from Beverly Hills several days prior to
Rudder Limited being in your neighborhood to replace your water meter. The replacement
process will involve shutting off your water service at the hand valve before
your water meter, installing a new meter and restoring water service to your home.
Please be advised that if the inside water supply hand valve cannot be shut off,
water service will be shut off to your home at the outside curb box. It is estimated
that the total time commitment for the meter replacement is approximately 30 minutes. All
authorized representatives from Rudder Limited will have a photo identification
badge stating, "Rudder Ltd., Meter Installations, Beverly Hills, with their
name and installer's number and Rudder's phone number." Please verify identification
before letting any individual into your home. Should you have any concerns regarding
service individuals, you are encouraged to contact Rudder Limited at (313) 884-8022
or (800) 771-8022, the Village Office at (248) 646-6404 or the Public Safety Department
at (248) 540-3400. The
contract with Rudder Limited is only for the meter replacement. They will not
provide any plumbing services other than the meter installation. If you would
like new valves or other work done, please contact a plumber of your choice. |

| AN
IMPORTANT TIP FOR KEEPING OUR WATER CLEAN |
| Did
you now that pet waste contains bacteria that makes our lakes and rivers unsafe
for swimming and other recreational activities? Did you also know that there are
over 53 million dogs in the U.S. that produce 6.3 billion pounds of waste and
bacteria per year? What
can you do? No matter where you are, dispose of your pet's waste promptly by throwing
it in the trash or toilet. |
