I live next door to a vacant home and the property isn't being maintained, what should I do?
If a property, whether vacant or occupied, is not being maintained, please report the address to the Village Code Enforcement at 248-646-6404.
You may use any 32 gallon or smaller can that has approved Yard Waste labels on it, or you may use brown paper yard waste bags. Free labels are available at the Village Office. We ask that one label be placed on the yard waste can. Yard waste cans and bags may only be used for grass, leaves or trimmings. No garbage. When you place your items out for pickup, please separate the yard waste cans/bags from the garbage cans by several feet.
Yard Waste pickup begins in April and ends in early December. Please check your Village calendar for dates. If you have yard waste between December and March, you can take it free of charge to the SOCRRA facility at 15 Mile and Coolidge.
NO PLASTIC BAGS FOR GRASS. Grass clippings will NOT be picked up in plastic bags of any kind. The best way to handle your grass clippings is to not collect them. Grass clippings are good for your lawn and it saves you time and tax dollars.
We begin collecting Christmas trees and using our brush chippers to chip trees the first two full weeks of January. Please check your Village calendar. Remove tinsel, ornaments and bags and place the tree at the curb.
Recycling is mandatory in Beverly Hills. A 64 gallon cart on wheels was distributed to each home in August 2017. If you do not have one, please contact the Village Office. If you need a larger cart, you may purchase a 95 gallon cart for $55 at the Village Office and we will pick up the 64 gallon cart. Separating trash, from yard waste from recycling makes it easier for the crew on the trucks to determine which is which. All recycling items must be placed inside the container for pickup.
