ELECTRICAL FEES
(Effective April 1, 2007)

The Village of Beverly Hills Ordains:

PREAMBLE: The fee schedule hereinafter established is for the purpose of insuring adequate inspections, plan examination and compliance with respect to the various codes and ordinances of the Village of Beverly Hills as administered by the Building Department. All fees shall be paid to the Village of Beverly Hills.

Fees for Licenses; Registration: Expiration. The following fees shall be charged for the licensing and registration, or both, of the trades indicated. Fees shall be paid annually at the time of registration.

Electrical Contractors Registration $20.00

Expiration: All electrical licenses and registrations shall expire on the 31st day of December of the year for which issued and shall be renewed before any permits will be issued.

Reinspection Fees. Any work not ready or available for inspection at the time inspection is requested will necessitate an additional reinspection and payment of the fee prescribed.

Reinspection Fee - All Trades $55.00

OVERTIME INSPECTION FEES. Anyone seeking inspection service during other than the normal working hours scheduled for the Building Department shall pay an overtime fee as prescribed.

First hour or part thereof $100.00
Each additional hour or part thereof $100.00

Electrical permit fees shall be paid for all electrical permits, including but not limited to, apparatus installed in new buildings, alterations, field inspection service, and repairs according to the following schedule, except that in no case shall less than $50.00 be charged for any one permit.

MINIMUM PERMIT FEE $55.00

CIRCUITS

First circuit, new or extended - Each $20.00
Each additional circuit $15.00

FIXTURES (receptacles, switches, plugs, 120 volt smoke detector)

First 25 lights, receptacles, plugs, switches and 120 volt residential smoke detectors + cir, if extended (up to 15 smoke detectors per cir) $30.00
Additional - EACH 25 $25.00

A permit for circuits on a parking lot or barricade lighting will include the lamp socket without additional charge.

RESIDENTIAL SMOKE ALARM SYSTEM (24 Volt) WITH CONTROL PANEL $55.00

COMMERCIAL FIRE ALARMS
Fire Alarm Panel $40.00
Each Alarm Device $15.00

SERVICE

New service connection, change of service or temporary service for light, heat or power.

100-200 ampere or temporary service $45.00
201-400 ampere or temporary service $50.00
Over 401 ampere or temporary service $55.00

I.A.C. - INTERRUPTABLE $35.00

ROUGH INSPECTION (Concealed wiring - EACH permit)

One Rough $40.00
Each Additional Rough $40.00

Reinspection Fees

Any work not repaired at the time of reinspection or work not ready or available for inspection at the time inspection is requested will necessitate an additional reinspection and payment of the fee prescribed.

ELECTRICAL POWER UNITS

Includes motors, transformers, Electric heating units, disposal, dishwasher, power plug, rectifiers, capacitors, welders, flood lamps 1,000 watts or over.

Air handler (requires cir & motor) $55.00

Rooftop equipment (furnace/A/C) $85.00

Reinspection Fee $55.00

(Above fees include branch circuit wiring to equipment)

Fees for motors of less than 1/8 HP shall be based on the number of circuits supplying such motors, (See schedule of fees for circuits)

DOMESTIC COOKING APPLIANCES, DRYERS AND WATER HEATERS

Each built-in oven, range top or similar appliance shall be considered as a separate unit in determining permit fee.

SIGNS

Each sign - 1 circuit $55.00

RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICAL SPACE HEATING (Not including supplemental heating)

First room $40.00
Each additional room-same permit and inspection $15.00

FEEDERS, MAINS, BUS DUCTS, SUBPANELS FROM SERVICE, ETC.

First 100 feet or less $40.00
Each additional 100 feet or fraction thereof $16.00

SWIMMING POOL WIRING, HYDRO MASSAGE TUB OR HOT TUB $85.00

CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS

1. Upon written request, prior to commencement of any work, permits may be cancelled by the holder and 80% of the permit fee will be refunded, except that not less than $25.00 shall be retained by the Village of Beverly Hills to cover administrative expenses.

2. In those cases where work has commenced and a request for cancellation is received in favor of a permit to others, a fee of $30.00 shall be charged for each inspection made and the amount of the refund shall be based on 80% of the remainder of the permit fee, except as otherwise provided in (1) above.

The new contractor completing the job must obtain a new permit in accordance with the fee schedule.

Hourly Rate - Each hour or fraction thereof $66.00

SPECIAL INSPECTION - (Must be a written request)

SPECIAL INSPECTIONS

Theatrical road shows $110.00
Temporary lighting displays $ 50.00

FAILURE TO SECURE PERMIT FOR WORK BEING DONE

If any trade performs work without a permit, a penalty equal to 100% of permit fee may be charged.
