The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) states that it is the public policy of the State of Michigan that all persons, except those persons incarcerated in state and local correctional facilities, are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government and the official acts of those who represent them as public officials and public employees.

The Village charges $0.15 per photocopy and depending on the information that is being requested, can charge for the employee's time to gather the requested information.
