Buckthorn Eradication Update

Beverly Park, located on Beverly Road between Evergreen Road and Southfield Road, is currently undergoing a buckthorn eradication process.  Buckthorn is an invasive species that out-competes native plants for nutrients, light, and moisture.  It degrades the natural habitat in the park and lacks natural predators or controls to keep overgrowth in check.

The Village of Beverly Hills has contracted with Natural Community Services to eradicate the buckthorn in the park, using a variety of treatments (mowing, cutting, spray treatment).

The next basal spray treatment is scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2019 along the western side of the park.

We appreciate your patience during this process.
