Beverly Green Concept Design Plan

Background

Beverly Green is a 1.1-acre park located on the north and south portions of the intersection of Beverly and Greenfield Roads.

In 2020, the voters of Beverly Hills approved a millage that specifically called for enhancements to park space on the Village’s east side.

In 2021 the semi-circle shaped parcel was formally recognized as a Village Park and in 2022 it was officially rezoned as Public Property. The Parks & Recreation Board sent out surveys requesting name suggestions for “Park Number 5” and ultimately decided on “Beverly Green.”

Resident, former Planning Commissioner, and Professional Landscape Architect, George Ostrowski volunteered to develop conceptual plans for Beverly Green and presented them to the Parks & Recreation Board and Village Administration in spring of 2022. The design included new trees, proposed landscaping, seating, pathways, a play element, lighting, fencing, and parking spaces.

Please be advised that prior to improvements in the park, the Road Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) will be installing a roundabout at the Greenfield and Beverly Road/Normandy Road intersection.  The cost will be shared between Oakland County, the City of Royal Oak, and the Village of Beverly Hills.  Construction on the roundabout is scheduled to begin in spring of 2023 and be completed before the 2023-2024 school year begins.  For more information on the roundabout, please click here.

The Village would like your feedback on the proposed plans!
