The Building Department is responsible for the issuance of permits and inspections for building, concrete, culvert, electrical, fence, mechanical, plumbing, sewer, and signs, zoning enforcement, reviewing site plans, receiving and investigating complaints regarding ordinances, and rental property licensing.

You must obtain a building permit before beginning any new construction or making any structural alterations.

Application for a permit must be accompanied by complete plans and specifications for construction, including a sketch. Contact the Village of Beverly Hills Building Department for site plan review and approval prior to submitting plans for permit issuance.

Some common activities that require a permit include: installation of a fence, building a deck, shingling a roof, replacing a furnace or water heater, installing central air or installing a swimming pool.
