Buckthorn Eradication at Beverly Park July 21-22

Our contractors, GEI Consultants, will be performing treatment on the invasive buckthorn at Beverly Park on Wednesday, July 21st and Thursday, July 22nd (weather permitting). GEI will perform foliar treatments to the two areas of Beverly Park that have already been treated over the last few years (in the wooded area adjacent to Nixon and around the trail). Please stay off of the treated area for at least 24 hours after treatment. Thank you for your cooperation.

Common buckthorn is an invasive woody plant that spreads quickly through seeds distributed by birds and wildlife. It crowds out native shrubs and understory plants. The Village has been working to eradicate buckthorn at Beverly Park and will be expanding the efforts to include Riverside Park later this year.
