Major DTE Power Outage
There is a major DTE power outage that is affecting the west end of the Village. Here is the update provided by DTE late last night:
"Late this afternoon (2/5/24), a fire in a manhole caused a significant outage in Southfield, Franklin, Bingham Farms and Beverly Hills. Emergency personnel, including DTE crews, responded to the scene. Our crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore customers, including bringing in utility generators. We are re-routing service where possible to other circuits so that we can restore power while crews continue through the overnight hours to make repairs. We expect the majority of customers in Southfield and a portion of Bingham Farms will be restored overnight tonight. The remaining customers in Franklin, Bingham Farms and Beverly Hills are estimated to be restored late tomorrow afternoon. Engineers and crews continue to review restoration plans to look for opportunities to restore service as fast and as safely as possible.
